My name is Phil and I'm from the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts. I attend Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, studying politics and sociology.

For the Spring 2009 semester, I'm participating in the Danish Institute for Study Abroad program in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Here I am on the ferry from Helsingør, Denmark to Helsingborg, Sweden.  The castle behind me, Elsinore or Kronborg, is that of Hamlet in the famous Shakespearean play.  I’ve visited it, and it’s really cool.  It’s on the UN World Heritage sites list, which is pretty exclusive (America has only 19 out of 878, probably because it’s only been around a few hundred years).
