Another not-so-eventful day

Day two in Stockholm didn’t go all that well.  First of all, I got up way too late and the place I planned to eat lunch was closed.  Thankfully the woman who took my order at the place I did eat was very friendly.  She asked why I would study in Denmark if the United States supposedly has everything?  Second on the not-so-good list, the Royal Palace is only open three hours per day and I missed that window.  Gamla Stan was OK.  It’s a charming place, with narrow streets and old buildings.  I got some very good chocolate truffles and saw some excellent—but expensive—art at a local gallery.  And third on the list, after consulting my friend Amy who loved Stockholm on where to go, I discovered that two good museums, one of modern art and the other of architecture, are both closed tomorrow.  I’ve revised my plan for tomorrow, which now consists of an early breakfast, the Royal Coin Cabinet (free), the open-air museum, and the Nordic Museum.  If I have time I’ll visit the TV tower, which is supposed to have a great view.

I’m going to leave Stockholm not having experienced anything close to its potential. :(
